Auto-save reply drafts for later use

Right now when I'm typing a reply, I am also using that for a documentation as I go, but I'm afraid that when I close the browser, or navigate, I lose all my text. Currently the browser is caching it, but it would be nice if the draft can be saved autmatically without sending, so I can safely close all my tabs, browsers, and even continue writing it from another computer.
