Add Subscriber Email via API

Currently, in order to add a subscriber to a ticket via API, we need to know the User ID. Not all of our users who want to submit tickets are current Jitbit users, so we do not know the User ID to send over. Can we have the ability to add a subscriber to a ticket via API by pushing their email address?
