Upgrading "trial" version to "full" version after purchasing

Steps to upgrade your version from "trial" to "full":


1. Download the package from our site using the credentials you got in the purchase email

2. Unpack it and run setup.exe from the "helpdesk" folder.

3. Pick option number 2 to upgrade an existing app and pick your trial instance


1. Stop the "application pool" in IIS settings (or stop the app on linux)

2. Locate the folder, where you have the helpdesk trial version installed (e.g. "c:\inetpub\wwwroot\HelpDesk").

3. Replace all the files in that folder with the files from the downloaded full-version package !!!EXCEPT!!! the appsettings.json file. Leave your appsettings.json untouched, because it contains the connection string to your database (earlier version of the app use "web.config" file for that)

4. (optional) The downloaded full version might be newer than your existing trial version (if you've been testing too long, we might have released a new version meanwhile). You will have to upgrade your database-schema to the latest version in this case. To do so simply run the "SetupTool.exe" file from the "bin" folder or manually run the database upgrade script from the "\sql" folder.
