Terminated Technicians

Right now if a technician is disabled / terminated in the system, if any prior ticket they had assigned to them is re-opened; that ticket get's assigned to the terminated technician. To make matters worse, you can't filter for tickets assigned to that technician, so there's really know way of knowing. 

My suggestion is that if a technician is terminated / disabled - any tickets re-opened should just go to unassigned.

I agree. Right now I have my termed technicians on a 'permanent vacation' (flagged as out of office for about 9 months)

I created an automation to reassign tickets that were assigned to a "permanent vacation" tech.
Also for departed techs, I just changed their accounts to regular users (effectively taking them out of all categories).
