Assets - unable to edit standard field drop down options (type, manufacturer, supplier)

In assets, under the standard fields (type, manufacturer, supplier), once you create an option you cannot edit it, only delete. Meaning any edit required, needs you to create a completely new option, then go change all the assets, and then delete the old option. very time consuming - please consider adding an edit option.
