Active Directory - mapping AD attributes to HelpDesk fields

Hi.

We would like to request a feature that allows mapping Active Directory (AD) attributes to custom HelpDesk user fields.

Currently, AD synchronization imports user data, but there is no flexible way to define which AD attribute should populate which HelpDesk field. This limits the usability of AD integration, especially for organizations that rely on custom attributes.

Proposed improvement:
Introduce a configuration option where administrators can map AD attributes to specific HelpDesk fields. For example:

  • AD attribute "department" → HelpDesk field "Department"

  • AD attribute "title" → HelpDesk field "Job Title"

  • AD attribute "extensionAttribute1" → HelpDesk custom field

Benefits:

  • Greater flexibility in user data synchronization

  • Better alignment with internal directory structures

  • Reduced need for manual data entry or workarounds

This does not necessarily need to be implemented via a UI — a configuration-based approach (config file, JSON, XML) would also be perfectly acceptable.

Ideally, this mapping could be configured in the AD/LDAP integration settings via a simple UI (dropdown or key-value mapping).

Thank you

But not only to custom fields. Also to regular fields, like department, company, ...
