Database full

Question:

We are running an on-premise instance of JitBit Helpdesk using SQL Express. We have hit our 10GB database size limit, but do not have the budget to upgrade to SQL Standard. Is there a way of purging all tickets before a certain date from the database?

Answer:

The latest version of JitBit Helpdesk has an internal archiving tool that helps you get rid of old data.

If you are running an older version of the software, you can try "shrinking" the database and the transaction log file in SQL Management Studio, this should free up some space. There are many tutorials out there on how to do that.

Other than that, consider deleting the old tickets and especially large file attachments from the tickets. You can do that by hand using the grid (for tickets) and the ticket page (for attachments).

And you would still need to "shrink" the database after deleting the tickets.
