Database full

Question:

We are running an on-premises instance of JitBit Helpdesk using SQL Express. We have hit our 10GB database size limit, but do not have the budget to upgrade to SQL Standard. Is there a way of purging all tickets before a certain date from the database?



Answer:

Consider enabling the "Auto-delete closed tickets after (days)" setting introduced in the recent versions.

Also periodically "shrink" the database and the transaction log file in SQL Management Studio, this should free up some space. There are many tutorials out there on how to do that, but basically you right-click the database in the left tree and select - "Tasks" - "Shrink"
