POP/IMAP error "Command is not valid in this state"

If you're getting the error "Command is not valid in this state" when testing your "incoming email server settings" - this is the confusing way that MS Exchange is trying to say "I'm not configured to allow unencrypted passwords". Please make sure you enable SSL in the settings and/or try contacting your email server administrator to assist with the issue.
